Just a one-hour flight from Mumbai, India, it offers a quiet oasis in the heart of a bustling city – a space where creative professionals can nurture creativity and foster artistic exchanges and collaborations.
About Us: Arts Reverie is set in the heart of a traditional pol or enclosed neighborhood. A warren ofwinding streets of singular character, filled with houses, temples, and extravagant bird-feeders at its tiny crossroads, make the neighborhood distinct and quaint. Virtually, a mirage within streets filled with cows, dogs, pedestrians and cyclists, this intimate and very special heritage house offers complete privacy and quiet – the bustle and characteristic flavor of the local neighborhood is available at arm’s reach.
This house is open to visual artists, writers, poets, musician, dancers, playwrights, visiting curators, academics, journalists, photographers, cultural study experts, architects and other creative professionals who want to engage with one of India’s most culturally vibrant cities.
Anupa Mehta, an arts manager and writer, oversees Arts Reverie. Mehta, along with UK based partners, Jeremy Theophilus and Barney Hare Duke, who are arts managers, provides networking opportunities and support for international artists interested in exploring arts networks across India. Arts Reverie is furnished in a simple but chic style. Each room is self contained with a small sit-out or work area, beds and basic furniture. Common yet private studio niches are available for visual artists in a space that doubles up as an intimate performance space for experimental performances. Open courtyards and side terraces filled with plants offer inviting niches for contemplation and discussion.
